With this method, I usually have about 20 keywords to work with depends on the niche. Then I check them in Google to find out if there are too many competition websites or not, I also use exact search. If there are more than 50000, I do not usually use those keywords.
Last but not least, I check the page rank of the websites that are on the first page. If the average page rank is under 2, I have the chance to be on the first place. Normally, I use 1 main and 3-4 extra keywords for a niche. If I cannot find enough I continue finding SEO keywords in the Google tool. As you can see this is a terribly time consuming process, but for me, it is effective.
