Write for your visitors
You should publish articles that provide information, not for Google but to your visitors. However, keyword density is critical, but the post must be enjoyable for your visitors. High keyword density does not mean you will have higher ranks. Also use LSI keywords.

Meta tags
The fact is that using meta tags used to be an effective way for SEO. Nowadays, they are not as prominent. However, well-written and compelling meta description can reach higher CTR in search results.
Heading tag
Using heading tags such as H1, H2 and H3 ones are still useful, but you must use them on the right way. The heading tags should follow each other, and I do not use two H1 tags. Moreover, the targeted keyword should be in the heading tags.

You have 2 years old domain which is really good. since the latest update of Google I try to concentrate on building related links and I have 25% more visitors now, though I build less links then before.
Another important factor is onsite SEO. You should have a well coded website and your posts must be optimized for keywords, headers etc.
Am still confused about this seo optimization and meta tag stuffs ve subscribe to many newsletter about it and downloaded some softwares but still dont no how it works my site is just 2 years old http ://www.Kvwap.com i think this is old enough for google to do something about it although you said 5 years..But with what i just read here it seems i now understand better whats everything about seo is all about am about to do some work about it now..You ve done a nice work here kudos to you
