Yes, there are some rather old and low quality classified ads scripts on the market. I prefer classified WordPress themes since they are easy to be modified and repair in case there is some problem
I have had bad experience with php classified script i bought from …(I will not disclosed the company name for some reason) there are so many bugs and what make matter worst .their so called technical support can’t resolve the problems, , Perhaps wp press theme is better that php script, because it has the cdms platform to run the program efficiently, thing that you should consider before buying any php based script is the support team
